The Bible is a lamp to our feet and a guide to our path (Psalm 119 verse 105).

It brings us comfort, direction and certainty in an uncertain world. Memorising verses from the Bible helps us always have the Word of God close to us. It can be a spur to pray, a comfort and a firm truth in a world of fake news and celebrity gossip.

In the 21st century we have easier access to the bible than ever before, but in many ways, we keep it at arm’s length. Learning verses off by heart keeps God’s word close to our minds and hearts even when we are in trouble or in a hurry. Why not join us in learning some or all of these verses. If you don’t have your own copy of the Bible or would like some suggestions about how to get more out of your Bible reading speak with Lis, Ian or any other member of the staff team.

During the Autumn of 2019 we will be learning some Bible verses together and also taking a look at the passages they come from. You can find the verses printed below; they are taken from the NIV translation of the Bible.
