A Lamp to our Feet
Memorising verses from the Bible helps us always have the Word of God close to us. It can be a spur to pray, a comfort and a firm truth in a world of fake news and celebrity gossip.
During the Autumn of 2019 we will be learning some Bible verses together and also taking a look at the passages they come from. You can find the verses listed below Sunday by Sunday.
Autumn Bible Verses
Sept 1st – Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
Sept 8th – 2 Timothy 3:16 -17
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Sept 15th – Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Sept 22nd – Isaiah 40:31
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.
Sept 29th – Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
October 6th – Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
